A small centre where children feel at home
YoMy Sunshine is a childcare and early learning centre in Dandenong North. We believe early childhood should feel like an extension of home, with warm relationships, time to play and people who really know your child.
Who we are
Care that starts with knowing your child
We are a local centre caring for children from babies through to kindergarten. Our doors open at 6:30am and close at 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, so families have time to get to work and home again without a rush.
We chose to stay small. With 30 places, children see the same educators each day and the same friends in their room. That familiar feeling helps them settle, and it helps us notice the little things, like a new word, a tricky morning or a growing interest in bugs.
Families from many cultures and backgrounds are part of our centre. We welcome that, and we plan meals, routines and celebrations with it in mind.

Three ideas guide everything we do

Every child is capable
Even the youngest children have ideas, preferences and something to say. We listen, give them real choices and let them try things for themselves.

Play is how children learn
Not play for the sake of filling time, but play with purpose. We set up spaces and materials that invite children to explore, question and create.

Families come first
You know your child best. We work alongside you, share what we notice, and shape care around your child’s routines, culture and needs.
How children learn
Learning that follows their curiosity
Children learn best when they are interested. Our educators watch what each child is drawn to, then add materials, questions and ideas that take that interest further.
A child building a tower is learning about balance and counting. A child sharing a book is learning words and turn-taking. We plan around the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, so play builds real skills for kindergarten and school.
Working with families
We work with you, not around you
Before your child starts, we talk about their sleep, feeding, comfort items and anything that helps them feel safe. Those details shape their day with us.
At drop-off and pick-up we share how the day went. If something is on your mind, we would always rather you ask.
Respecting each child
Every child in their own way
Some children rush in and some need a longer cuddle at the door. Both are fine. We let children settle at their own pace and follow their cues rather than a rigid timetable.
We respect each child’s culture, language and family traditions, and we help children learn to respect one another too.

We are on Genoa Street in Dandenong North, close to families in Dandenong, Endeavour Hills, Doveton and Noble Park North. We love being a local centre, where children can make their first friends close to home.
