Healthy meals

Fresh meals, cooked here every day

What children eat matters to us. Four meals a day are prepared in our own kitchen, and we plan around your family’s needs, from halal and vegetarian meals to allergies.

Four meals, all included

No lunchboxes to pack. Here is what children eat through the day.

    Breakfast

A good start for children who arrive early, so there is no rush to feed everyone before leaving home.

  2. 02

    Morning tea

A light snack mid-morning to keep energy up for play.

  3. 03

    Lunch

The main meal of the day, eaten together at the table.

  4. 04

    Afternoon tea

Something to keep hungry tummies going until home time.

Our kitchen

Prepared on site, not brought in

All meals are made in the centre’s own kitchen using fresh ingredients. Cooking here means meals are made on the day, and we can adjust them for individual children’s needs.

We plan menus around foods children enjoy, and aim for a good balance of fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy and protein across the week.

Dietary needs

Meals that work for your family

Our community is diverse, and so are our families’ needs. Tell us about your child’s diet when you enrol.

  • Halal options

Halal meals are available for children who need them. Let us know when you enrol.

  • Vegetarian options

Vegetarian meals are available every day, planned so children still get a balanced diet.

  • Allergies and intolerances

We plan meals around each child’s allergies and intolerances, using the information and action plans you give us.

  • Cultural and family needs

If your family has cultural or religious food requirements, talk to us. We will work with you to meet them.

Healthy eating habits

Mealtimes are learning times too

Sitting down together to eat is a chance to talk, share and practise new skills. Children get to practise using cups and cutlery, and to try foods they might not taste at home.

We encourage children to listen to their own hunger and fullness, and to try new foods at their own pace. Happy, relaxed mealtimes help children build a healthy relationship with food.

For babies, meals follow each child’s stage, whether that is purees, mashed food or finger foods. We will talk with you about how your baby eats at home.
