Toddler Childcare in Dandenong North
Toddlers want to do everything themselves, and at our small Dandenong North centre they get the room, time and encouragement to try. Our Toddler Program on Genoa Street is built for busy two and three year olds, with doors open from 6:30am.

Starting care
Big energy, small centre
Between two and three, children change fast. Words turn into sentences, walking turns into running, and “me do it” becomes a favourite phrase. A good toddler room makes space for all of it.
At YoMy Sunshine, toddlers share a small centre where the educators know them well. That familiarity matters at this age: a toddler who feels safe with the adults around them is far more willing to try something new.
We keep the day active and hands-on, with plenty of time to move, make a mess and find out how things work.

Our toddler program approach
What toddlers do with us
Our Toddler Program is designed around how two and three year olds actually learn: by doing, repeating and trying again.
Growing independence
Toddlers practise feeding themselves, washing hands, finding their bag and helping pack away, with an educator ready to help.
Words and conversation
Stories, songs and lots of everyday chatter help toddlers learn new words and start putting their ideas into sentences.
Moving and climbing
Running, digging, balancing and carrying things outdoors build strength and coordination, which toddlers need plenty of.
Playing alongside friends
Toddlers learn to share space, take turns and notice how others feel, with gentle help from their educators.
Creative, messy play
Paint, chunky crayons, dough and sand let toddlers explore colour and texture without worrying about the result.
Routines that settle
Predictable meals, rest and pack-away times help toddlers know what comes next and feel more in control.

Day to day
A toddler’s day may include
There is a steady rhythm to the toddler day, but it bends around the children. A typical day may include:
- Outdoor play, digging and running
- Building, stacking and simple puzzles
- Painting, drawing and sensory play
- Group stories, songs and rhymes
- Meals together at the table
- Rest or quiet time after lunch
- Help with toileting and self-care, at each child’s pace
Ask us on your tour how the day runs in the toddler room.
Meals toddlers can share
Toddlers eat breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea prepared in our kitchen, sitting together at the table. Halal, vegetarian and allergy-aware options are available, and we will plan around your child’s needs.

From nursery, and on to preschool
Many toddlers join us from our own nursery, so the move is to a new room rather than a new centre. Others start with us as toddlers, and we take the time to help them settle.
When your child is ready, usually around three, they move up into our Preschool Program, where the day adds more group projects, early literacy and number play.
